I am a Person-Centred Counsellor and as such I believe that no matter how stressed, distressed or unhappy we may be, all human beings have a inbuilt positive tendency to strive to do the best for ourselves, to grow and to develop.

The Person-Centred Approach is non-directive and believes you are the expert in your own internal world, the only person who really knows how they feel, the only one who can decide what the meaning of their life is and what you should do with it. I believe my role as a counsellor is to work alongside you to gain a clear understanding of how you experience your internal world. In order to do this I will listen with genuine understanding and acceptance to your issues and feelings.

Together we will create a trusting relationship which is essential to providing a safe place in order to get in touch with feelings and talk without fear. I see this relationship as a journey where it is necessary for me to be there with the whole of myself so that it is safe for you to be present with your whole self, so that growth and change can take place.
It is my belief that the more you feel you have been genuinely listened to, understood and accepted, the more you will listen to your own feelings and be more accepting of them, thus become your own therapist.
